Happy First Birthday Baby!

Happy First Birthday baby boy!

 I cannot believe that you are a year old. You are the sweetest, smartest, most well behaved baby.  I think you resemble both your Daddy & I equally. You are definitely a boy, such a difference from your sister. Whereas Sissy clung to Daddy, you cling to Mommy. I love every minute of it too =).

 You aren't walking yet but you are trying. You will take a step here or there but you still prefer to crawl or cruise. You love eating EVERYTHING! I really haven't found anything you don't like, you even gave peas a second try and seemed to enjoy them for the most part. You prefer to feed yourself but will tolerate Mommy feeding you your oatmeal. Thanks for that! You are also still breastfeeding. My goal was a year and now that we are there I am going to take it day by day. I really don't have a desire to stop anytime soon so I will let you decide.

You love expressing yourself with your voice. You yell and talk a lot. I don't understand everything you can say but I have heard -Mama, Dada, Papa, baba, baby, ball, Pooh & bye-bye. You are very smart little boy. You know your house well, you know where you can & cant go. When you venture into the "Jaysen Not Allowed" zones you look at me and smile. You know your not allowed there Jay! When I ask where your ball is - you get it for me. When I ask where your drum is you crawl as fast as possible and grab it for me. Such a good boy you are baby. I think Sissy is your favorite. She can do the simplest of things and you crack up! She is rough on you but you don't seem to mind. Mommy does but I guess I will have to get used to it. I keep telling her that one day you are going to get her back!

This past year has been fantastic.  You have changed our whole family and opened our eyes to a lot of things that we were blind to. We are so blessed to have you in our lives Jaysen. We all love you so much. Happy First Birthday buddy!

10 Month Update!

My little man is 10 months old already, we are in double digits here people! I might be a tad late (OK, so he's 12 days away from the 11 month mark) but better late than never right! I cannot believe that in 2 short months Jay will be a year old. I know it is so cliche but the first year really does FLY BY. I still feel like he should be this tiny little baby but he is far from it. Here is what he is doing this month:

• Will pull up to stand on just about anything, stable or not. His favorites are the couch, my leg and the hanging towel in the kitchen (love that last one).
• Loves saying "nooooooo" to everything. By "saying" I mean shaking his head of course.
• Is really into eating, if you have food you best believe he will make it known that he wants some. He will stop whatever it is he is doing and make a beeline towards anyone eating anything.
• Speaking of food, he LOVES watermelon. Its his favorite this month. 
• Is really trying to talk. So far he's not saying much but I can tell he is just bursting at the seams with things to talk about. 
• Starting to stand on his own for a handful of seconds at a time. 
• Waves at everyone he sees (sooooo cute).
• Blows raspberry's on everything. My arm, the sliding glass door, the dog.
• Bites me and it hurts! Those little chompers break skin sometimes!
• Gives high five.
• Loves giving mommy kisses, they are wet and slobbery and I LOVE THEM!
• Has a total of 5 teeth now. The two bottom ones, two top ones and one canine popping in.
• Will entertain himself now. Its the cutest thing, he will go off on his own to his little play area and just start playing. So sweet.
• Is still nursing like a champ, 10 months and going strong.

9 Months!

My little boy turned 9 months old on May 11th and all I can say is where did the time go? He is doing so many things now and is really just so much fun I can hardly stand it.  Last month was a busy one. Its like he went from a baby to a big boy in one month. So far my little boy:

• Weighs 24 pounds.
• Has his two bottom teeth.
• Is mobile! I wouldnt call it crawling, more like inchworming but he is on the move and is quick!
• Goes from crawling to sitting. This one really got me, hes really not a little baby anymore. 
• Can clap hands.
• Blows kisses.
• Says dada, papa & mama. 
• Will wave if he is in the mood.
• Can pull himself up onto things which scares the beejeezus out of mommy. 
• Is still sleeping 10-12 hours a night (I know, I am lucky, thats I roll)
• Eating more solids everyday. I am still making baby food but I dont puree it anymore. A little fork smooshing and hes ready to chow down. To date he has had sweet potatoes, carrots, butternut squash, peas, brown rice, pasta with pesto or sauce, blueberries, yogurt, peaches, avacado and prunes. We are raising him as a vegetarian in case you we wondering why the lack of meat.
• Can feed himself finger foods. 
• Is still nursing! Yay - 9 months and going strong. 

Can you see why I am having a mini panic attack!!! I am scared that he will be walking soon and then he really wont be a little baby anymore. I really am loving this age. He is such a joy,  him and his sister really make my life complete. I feel like I am doing what I was meant to do in this lifetime and couldn't be happier. ~ Life is good ~
