What Should We Do Wednesday!

Well, we are a week into summer already. Did you have fun catching fireflies? Hope you all had a blast! Onto this weeks activity then shall we?

In honor of the upcoming 4th of July holiday this weeks activity is: Patriotic Parfaits*!

This is such a fun, easy way to celebrate those red, white and blue colors from our flag that all Americans are so proud of. The recipe is great for kids to help along with so gather them up and lets get started!

Heres what you need:

  • 1  8-ounce carton vanilla low-fat yogurt
  • 1/4  teaspoon almond extract or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2  of an 8-ounce container frozen light whipped dessert topping, thawed
  • 3  cups fresh raspberries and/or cut-up fresh strawberries
  • 3  cups fresh blueberries

Then its just as simple as:

1. Stirring together the yogurt and almond extract or vanilla. Then just fold in the whipped cream.
2. To serve, grab six 12-ounce glasses or dessert dishes. Then alternate layers of the berries with layers of the yogurt mixture. Makes 6 servings.

So simple and so yummy! Hope you all have a fun and safe holiday weekend, enjoy!
